The hard part of putting AI on a phone line is not the model. Models are good and getting better. The hard part is everything around the model: what the greeting says, when to stop trying and bring in a person, what that person needs to see, how a Spanish-speaking caller is treated, where disclosure goes, and what the owner sees the next morning. Those are operating decisions, and they are the decisions people who have run contact centers have already made, badly and then well, thousands of times. IzzyOps (working name) was built by people who have run contact centers 1, and this page explains why that shows up in the product.
Gartner predicts that more than 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by the end of 2027. The reasons it gives are escalating costs, unclear business value, and inadequate risk controls, and it warns of “agent washing,” the rebranding of existing assistants, RPA, and chatbots without substantial agentic capabilities 2. None of those failure modes is about speech recognition. In Deloitte Digital’s 2026 survey of 720 service leaders, the top challenge was integration of technology, systems, and tools (72%), followed by legacy systems (58%) and data security and compliance (53%) 3. Only 22% of contact center leaders say they are certain their teams are ready for next-generation work 4.
Operators know these failure modes because they have lived them. That knowledge is what an operator-built product encodes.
Any vendor should be able to answer these in specifics. Abby Connect, for example, describes its product as built in-house on more than 20 years of receptionist expertise 8; the claim is credible because it is specific. Redial will publish the specifics behind IzzyOps’ operator credentials on this page as they are confirmed with IzzyLabs.
Redial has run contact center programs since 2017 for clients in healthcare, financial services, retail, automotive, utilities, logistics, and property management, across Mexico, South Africa, and the Philippines 9, and was assessed as an Aspirant in Everest Group’s 2026 CXM Services PEAK Matrix for the Americas among 63 providers 10. The IzzyOps deployment rules described above are Redial’s operating rules, applied to an AI front desk. The homepage says it best: not AI instead of people, AI that makes people better 9.
What does "built by contact center operators" actually mean?
That the people who designed the product have run phone operations and built the product around operating decisions (disclosure, when to stop, what the handoff carries, how Spanish is handled, what the owner sees) rather than around a model demo. Redial will document the specific credentials behind the claim on this page.
Why do AI phone projects fail?
According to Gartner, because of escalating costs, unclear business value, and inadequate risk controls, not model quality 2. Integration is the top challenge contact center leaders report 3.
Does operator-built mean less capable AI?
No. It means the AI is deployed with rules about when to act and when to hand off. Gartner’s definition of useful agentic AI is goal-driven agents that take actions 11; IzzyOps is designed to book, confirm, and trigger workflows, and to hand off when it should.
How is this different from the AI receptionist in my phone system?
Phone-system AI receptionists transfer to your own team with a summary. IzzyOps is designed to do that too, and additionally to hand off to a trained bilingual Redial agent who can resolve the call and, as you grow, become your dedicated team.
The eight decisions above are audible. Book a demo of IzzyOps (working name) and listen for the disclosure, the moment the agent stops trying, and what the person taking the handoff already knows. Commercial availability is planned for late 2026 to early 2027; demos and the early-access list are open now.
